Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's participation in the NATO summit currently being held in Ankara has been clarified with new details regarding his schedule.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from CNN, President Zelenskyy is set to attend the formal dinner with NATO leaders but will not be present at the alliance's official working sessions.
Analysts suggest this decision may serve as a political signal regarding the current status of Ukraine's aspirations for NATO membership, which have yet to be fully realized. Despite his limited participation in the main sessions, it is expected that President Zelenskyy will engage in a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit. The Ukrainian leader previously indicated that plans are in place to sign new agreements concerning unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the event.
The NATO summit, a critical forum for discussing collective security and geopolitical strategy, brings together leaders from across the alliance to address pressing international challenges. The presence of US President Donald Trump at the summit has also drawn significant attention; upon his arrival in Ankara, the US President notably greeted Turkish military personnel in their native language during the welcoming ceremony.
