Zaxarova: Alekseyevə qarşı sui-qəsd Kiyev rejiminin danışıqları pozmaq niyyətini göstərir

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova has stated that the assassination attempt against Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev, the first deputy head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff, demonstrates the Kyiv regime's intention to undermine the negotiation process for resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

The "Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that Zakharova made these remarks during a press briefing. She recalled that the assassination attempt took place on February 6 in a residential building in Moscow, asserting that the incident confirms the Zelensky administration's commitment to provocations specifically designed to derail the peace process.

“This terrorist act once again confirmed the Zelensky regime's commitment to continuous provocations to disrupt the negotiation process, which they publicly promised to continue,” the diplomat noted. Zakharova further added that in a recent speech, Zelensky announced the coordination of operations on Russian territory with the newly appointed head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Yevgeni Khmara. According to her, it is “clear that Kyiv is ready to make almost any attempt to prevent the achievement of a fair peace.”

The incident occurs against a backdrop of stalled diplomatic efforts and intensified military posturing in the region. International mediators have repeatedly called for a return to the negotiating table, though trust between the parties remains at an all-time low. Such high-profile incidents involving senior military leadership underscore the volatile security situation and the significant hurdles facing any potential ceasefire or long-term resolution to the ongoing hostilities.
