The Azerbaijani state will cover the expenses for the grave monument of the late People's Artist Rasim Balayev.
Alisa Jabbarov, Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers, announced the decision, according to Operative Information Center-OMM citing Report. Jabbarov noted that the design and ordering process for the monument are currently being coordinated between the artist's family and relevant government agencies.
Rasim Balayev, one of Azerbaijan's most celebrated cinema and theater actors, passed away on March 29 while receiving medical treatment in Istanbul. He was laid to rest in the First Alley of Honor in Baku, a cemetery reserved for the nation's most distinguished figures. Balayev was widely acclaimed for his iconic roles in films such as "Nasimi" and "Babek," which have become cornerstones of Azerbaijani cultural heritage. The state's involvement in honoring his memory reflects his significant contributions to the country's arts and culture.
