Nyu-York hökumət cihazlarında "TikTok" qadağasını ləğv etdi

The New York City administration has officially lifted the ban on the use of the TikTok application on government-owned devices, reversing a previous policy aimed at restricting the platform.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that the decision was announced by city official Zohran Mamdani. Notably, the announcement was shared with the public on Tuesday through the TikTok platform itself, signaling a shift in the city's digital communication strategy.

Under the new directive, government agencies in New York are permitted to resume their activities on the platform provided they adhere to specific requirements. These conditions include:

  • Strict compliance with newly established security protocols;
  • The resumption of official government communications and postings on the platform.

The move comes amid a complex landscape of digital policy in the United States. While several states and federal entities have previously implemented restrictions on the app due to data privacy and security concerns, New York's decision reflects an effort to balance security with the need for effective public outreach. TikTok remains one of the most widely used social media platforms globally, and many government bodies utilize it to reach younger demographics and provide real-time updates on public services. This policy change follows similar discussions at the federal level, where the administration of US President Donald Trump continues to evaluate the regulatory framework for international technology platforms operating within the country.
