Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz held a meeting with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to discuss the current state of bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting took place in Tehran on the sidelines of a memorial ceremony.

In a post on the social media platform X, Cevdet Yilmaz expressed his condolences to the Iranian people during this difficult period. He emphasized that Turkey remains committed to supporting regional peace and stability, advocating for the expansion of dialogue channels and the normalization of relations following conflicts.

During the discussions, the two officials addressed key areas of cooperation, including economy, trade, energy, and transportation. Yilmaz reaffirmed Turkey's intention to further develop and strengthen collaborative efforts with Iran in these strategic sectors.

The meeting concluded with Yilmaz expressing his gratitude to President Pezeshkian for the reception and reiterating Turkey's solidarity with the Iranian state and its people.

Turkey and Iran, as two major regional powers, maintain complex diplomatic ties that often focus on balancing regional security concerns with extensive economic cooperation, particularly in the energy and transit sectors.
