US Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, visited Martyrs' Lane in Baku on February 11 as part of their official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Vice President honored the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of Azerbaijan. During the ceremony, J.D. Vance laid a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" monument.
Martyrs' Lane, located in the capital city of Baku, serves as a memorial to those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January in 1990 and later during the Garabagh War. The site is a significant location for official state visits, where foreign dignitaries pay their respects to Azerbaijan's national sovereignty and territorial integrity. This visit underscores the strengthening diplomatic relations between the United States under the administration of US President Donald Trump and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
