The Kharibulbul International Music Festival, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture in Shusha, continues to serve as a vital platform for young creatives to showcase their skills and present national artistic traditions through a modern lens.
A significant highlight of the festival's first day took place at the historic Jidir Duzu plain, where students from the Faculty of Arts at Garabagh University took to the stage. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the young musicians performed a diverse program featuring works by both Azerbaijani and international composers. The concert included performances by students specializing in mugham (khananda), vocal arts, balaban, piano, and other disciplines.
The event concluded with a powerful rendition of the song "Azerbaijan" by the world-renowned singer Muslim Magomayev. The Kharibulbul International Music Festival, named after the symbolic flower of the region, was reinstated in Shusha following the city's liberation in 2020. Shusha, declared the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World for 2024, has historically been the cradle of Azerbaijani music and poetry, and the festival aims to preserve this rich heritage while fostering international cultural exchange.
