A driver has been arrested in Baku for engaging in reckless driving, commonly referred to as "autohooliganism."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, officers from the State Traffic Police Department of the Khazar District Police Office apprehended Bayram Ahmadov, the driver of a Chevrolet vehicle, for committing gross traffic violations and dangerous maneuvers on the road.
A protocol was drawn up against the driver in accordance with the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the case was subsequently referred to the court for review. Following the court's decision, Ahmadov’s driving privileges were suspended for a period of one year, and he was sentenced to administrative detention.
In Azerbaijan, traffic safety remains a priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which frequently conducts operations to curb reckless driving and ensure compliance with road safety regulations. Such measures are part of broader efforts to reduce traffic accidents and maintain public order on the capital's roads.
