Azerbaijani border authorities prevented 582 individuals with travel restrictions from leaving the country during the month of March.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the State Border Service released these figures as part of its monthly summary of border security operations. According to the official statement, 322 individuals wanted by law enforcement agencies were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities as a result of intensified anti-crime measures.

The report further detailed that in addition to those barred from exiting, 11 individuals with entry bans were prevented from entering Azerbaijan. Furthermore, as part of efforts to combat illegal migration, 6 people were detained for attempting to cross the state border using forged date stamps, counterfeit passports, or documents belonging to others. Another 72 individuals were detained for violating border regime rules, with appropriate legal measures taken against them.

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan continues to modernize its infrastructure and surveillance capabilities to ensure the security of the nation's frontiers. These monthly enforcement actions are part of a broader strategy to maintain public order and national security, particularly in the context of Azerbaijan's strategic position as a transit hub between Europe and Asia. The agency regularly collaborates with other law enforcement bodies to identify and apprehend individuals attempting to evade justice or bypass legal migration protocols.
