New infrastructure in Azerbaijan Army: Which military facilities have been commissioned?

As part of the ongoing modernization of the army's infrastructure, several new military facilities have been commissioned by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Official information regarding the inaugurations was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the ministry. The leadership of the Ministry of Defense participated in the opening ceremonies of the administrative buildings for the Engineering-Sappers Center of the Engineering Troops, the Psychological Support Department, the Baku Military Psychological Health Center, and the Legal Department.

Furthermore, officials inspected the ongoing work at the Baku Military College, operating under the National Defense University, and the Emergency Medical Unit of the Main Clinical Hospital. These developments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the combat readiness and social-psychological welfare of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces following the restoration of territorial integrity in Garabagh and surrounding regions.

Engineering-Sappers Center: Demining and modern simulators

The newly commissioned Engineering-Sappers Center is equipped with state-of-the-art simulator systems that meet modern standards for training junior specialists and conducting demining operations. During the inspection, the leadership visited the fire depot, guardroom, and vehicle park. They also reviewed warehouses for engineering ammunition, military-technical equipment, rocket-artillery weapons, and supplies, as well as training sites at the Engineering Troops' proving ground.

Additionally, the leadership was presented with newly acquired engineering weaponry and modern mechanical demining equipment intended to strengthen the center's material and technical base. Detailed reports were provided on the tactical-technical characteristics and operational capabilities of the new hardware, which is vital for clearing liberated territories of mines and unexploded ordnance.

How will the new Psychological Health Center serve military personnel?

As part of structural reforms aimed at maintaining a high level of psychological readiness within the Azerbaijan Army, the renovated administrative buildings of the Psychological Support Department and the Baku Military Psychological Health Center have been put into operation. Special therapy rooms have been established to increase the psychological resilience of personnel and facilitate post-traumatic recovery.

The center, which is a pioneer in the region, features collaboration between military and civilian psychologists to protect and develop the psychological well-being of Azerbaijan's servicemen and their family members. Services provided include individual and group psychotherapy, psychological diagnostics, consultation, and stress and post-traumatic psychological rehabilitation. The center also plans to support the psychological development of children and adolescents within military families.

New administrative building for the Ministry of Defense Legal Department

The leadership of the Ministry of Defense also attended the opening of the Legal Department's new administrative building. The department serves as a critical body regulating various military-legal issues and ensuring activities comply with defense legislation. Its functions include providing legal advice to Azerbaijan Army personnel, combating military crimes, and managing international legal matters.

The primary objective of the Legal Department is to provide legal support to the troops and forces under the Ministry of Defense and to ensure full compliance with existing laws. This infrastructure upgrade reflects Azerbaijan's commitment to aligning its military administration with international standards and enhancing the professional environment for its legal officers.
