"The integration of Ukraine and the European Union in the military-industrial sector has already begun," according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) developed in Ukraine are currently being manufactured in Germany. Furthermore, the production of fuel for "Flamingo" missiles is scheduled to commence in Denmark in the near future.
"Deep integration of Ukraine's military industry with that of the EU is crucial. Drones developed in Ukraine are being produced in Germany, and fuel for 'Flamingo' missiles will soon be produced in Denmark. In other words, we must combine Ukrainian innovation with European technology and industrial capacity," she emphasized.
Von der Leyen also advocated for further expanding cooperation between Kyiv and Brussels, urging that such partnerships should not wait for Ukraine's formal accession to the European Union.
This initiative marks a significant shift in EU-Ukraine defense relations, moving beyond simple military aid toward a collaborative industrial model. By leveraging Ukraine's combat-tested innovations alongside the established manufacturing infrastructure of EU member states, the bloc aims to bolster collective security and accelerate the production of critical defense equipment amidst ongoing regional instability.
