US President Donald Trump has announced that he held a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, and confirmed that the two leaders plan to meet in the near future.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the discussion covered a broad spectrum of bilateral and global issues.

"I had a very good conversation with the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham. We discussed many topics, including the relationship between our countries. We will meet in the not-too-distant future to discuss matters of mutual interest," President Trump stated.

The US President added that Prime Minister Burnham faces significant responsibilities and expressed confidence in his ability to manage the challenges ahead.

President Trump further emphasized that the telephone conversation addressed critical international topics, including oil production in the North Sea, trade relations, military alliances, and the demining of the Strait of Hormuz.

It should be noted that following his appointment as Prime Minister by King Charles III, Andy Burnham had announced that his initial diplomatic outreach would prioritize telephone calls with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This conversation underscores the enduring "special relationship" between Washington and London, which remains a cornerstone of Western geopolitical strategy, particularly regarding energy security and maritime stability.
