President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed the establishment of a Digital Monitoring Center and a Digital Innovation Center under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The initiative aims to streamline technological integration and foster a unified digital ecosystem among the member nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Tokayev made these remarks during his speech at the informal OTS Summit. "These institutions will enable the organization's member states to more actively utilize the opportunities provided by digital technologies. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the emerging threats in the field of cybersecurity," Tokayev stated, emphasizing the need for collective resilience against modern digital challenges.
The Organization of Turkic States, which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, has increasingly focused on economic and technological synergy in recent years. This proposal aligns with the broader regional goals of digital transformation and the development of high-tech infrastructure. Azerbaijan, as a key member of the OTS, has frequently advocated for enhanced connectivity and the implementation of the "Digital Silk Way" project, which seeks to establish a fiber-optic telecommunications corridor between Europe and Asia through the Caspian region.
