Azerbaijan is bracing for a significant shift in weather conditions, with intermittent rain expected in several mountainous and foothill regions from August 26 to 29.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a formal advisory regarding the incoming weather pattern.

Forecasters indicate that the precipitation may be accompanied by short-term downpours, lightning, and the potential for hail in isolated areas. Due to the expected rainfall, authorities have warned that water levels in rivers may rise, and short-term flash floods cannot be ruled out in some mountain rivers. Overall, temperatures across the country are forecast to drop gradually by 4 to 8 degrees compared to previous days.

The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, is responsible for monitoring climate patterns and providing early warnings for extreme weather events. These alerts are crucial for public safety, particularly in mountainous regions where rapid changes in weather can impact infrastructure and agricultural activities.
