Record-breaking temperatures are expected today across 25 provinces in Turkey, including the major metropolitan hub of Istanbul. The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from "Haber Global," confirmed that the country's General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an official warning regarding the extreme weather conditions.

According to the Directorate, while heat remains the primary concern, certain regions will experience volatile weather patterns. "Intermittent heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected. Rainfall is anticipated to be particularly intense in the inland areas of Samsun and Sinop. Consequently, there is a heightened risk of flash floods and landslides in these regions," the statement noted.

Turkey's climate is characterized by significant regional diversity, often leading to sudden weather shifts. The General Directorate of Meteorology regularly monitors these patterns to provide early warnings, which are critical for public safety, particularly in densely populated urban centers like Istanbul, where heat islands can exacerbate temperature spikes and affect infrastructure.
