President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has described the prospects for developing relations between China and Russia as "bright."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Al Jazeera, Xi Jinping expressed confidence during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the ties between the two nations will continue to strengthen.
The Chinese leader noted that uncertainty and unpredictability in the current international order have increased significantly. Despite this, he emphasized the importance of further bolstering the strategic partnership between Beijing and Moscow. Xi Jinping highlighted the significance of maintaining robust relations between the two countries, regardless of pressure from third parties.
The meeting took place on August 31 in Bishkek on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the leaders discussed bilateral relations, trade and economic cooperation, and pressing issues on the international agenda.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, founded in 2001, serves as a crucial platform for political, economic, and security cooperation across Eurasia. The deepening partnership between China and Russia within this framework is often viewed by geopolitical analysts as a strategic counterweight to Western-led international alliances, reflecting a shared vision for a multipolar world order.
