According to the press service of the Russian Football Union (RFU), as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the two sides are scheduled to compete at the end of September.
The match is planned to take place in Kazan at the stadium that serves as the home ground for the Rubin Kazan football club. According to the official announcement, the game is set for September 29. Further details regarding the kickoff time are expected to be released in the coming days.
It should be noted that Russia and Iran have previously met in two friendly matches following their exclusion from major international tournaments.
