Russia has announced that its forces have taken full control of the Luhansk region.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation released an official statement regarding the latest developments on the front lines. According to the ministry, Russian forces are currently securing advancements across multiple directions of the conflict zone.
\“Units of the Western Military Group have completed the process of liberating the Luhansk People's Republic,\” the official statement read. The ministry further noted that the settlements of Verkhnyaya Pisarevka in the Kharkiv region and Boykovo in the Zaporizhzhia region have also been seized by the Russian military as part of their ongoing offensive operations.
The Luhansk region, located in eastern Ukraine, has been a primary focal point of military activity since the escalation of the conflict. The region forms part of the industrial Donbas heartland, and its territorial control has significant strategic implications for the broader logistics and supply lines in the area.
