Azerbaijani football clubs, currently continuing their preparations for the upcoming season abroad, have played their latest series of friendly matches.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Qarabag, which is holding a training camp in Austria, faced local side Tirol in their first test match in the country.
The match concluded with a decisive 4-0 victory for the Aghdam club. Zakaria Savo shone for the "Cavaliers," netting a hat-trick, while Camilo Duran scored the remaining goal.
Meanwhile, Zira, currently training in Bolu, Turkey, faced Uzbekistan's Navbahor. The team led by head coach Rashad Sadygov was defeated by their opponent with a score of 1-3. The only goal for the Baku-based club was scored by Yegor Bogomolskiy.
It should be noted that both teams previously held a friendly match against each other in Baku, where Qarabag defeated Zira with a score of 4-3. These international training camps are crucial for Azerbaijani clubs as they prepare for upcoming UEFA club competition qualifiers, where Qarabag, in particular, has consistently represented the country on the European stage for over a decade.
