President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on May 17. The meeting focused on the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further cooperation in various sectors.

During the discussions, both leaders emphasized the high level of political dialogue and the importance of mutual support for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. They highlighted the successful implementation of joint projects, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors, which serve the interests of both nations.

Azerbaijan and Serbia share a strategic partnership, solidified by the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2013 and subsequent agreements. In recent years, the two countries have significantly increased cooperation in the energy sector, with Azerbaijan playing a key role in Europe's energy security through the Southern Gas Corridor. Serbia has expressed strong interest in diversifying its gas supplies via Azerbaijani resources, further cementing the economic ties between Baku and Belgrade.
