President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on awarding Jamil Aziz oglu Aliyev with the "Istiglal" (Independence) Order.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the decree was issued in accordance with Clause 23 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the official document, Jamil Aziz oglu Aliyev was conferred with the high state award for his exceptional services to the development of medical science and healthcare in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Jamil Aliyev is a prominent scientist and oncologist who has served as the Director of the National Center of Oncology of the Ministry of Health since 1990. Under his leadership, the center has become a leading regional hub for cancer research and treatment. The "Istiglal" Order is one of Azerbaijan's highest state honors, typically awarded to citizens for outstanding services in the fields of national independence, statehood, and socio-economic development.
