Prezident İlham Əliyev: Avropa Komissiyasında anti-Azərbaycan qrupu mövcud idi

President Ilham Aliyev has addressed the existence of anti-Azerbaijan factions within the European Commission, highlighting the influence of biased individuals and external interests on diplomatic relations. During his remarks, the head of state pointed to the involvement of figures such as Luis Moreno Ocampo, the former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, suggesting that such individuals were motivated by financial interests linked to Armenian oligarchs.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these statements were made by President Ilham Aliyev during the opening ceremony of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum. The President emphasized that certain corrupt elements had actively worked to undermine Azerbaijan's international standing.

“There was an anti-Azerbaijan group within the European Commission, and we hope that Mr. Borrell has left politics once and for all. Since then, our relations have begun to improve. We have particularly seen that there is a great need for the mutual restarting of these relations, and we have supported this,” the head of state noted.

The Shusha Global Media Forum serves as a significant international platform, bringing together media experts, journalists, and policymakers to discuss the evolving landscape of global journalism and geopolitical challenges. By hosting such events in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the country continues to assert its role as a hub for international dialogue and transparency, countering disinformation campaigns that have historically targeted its sovereignty in the Garabagh region.
