Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced plans to visit Russia for a meeting with President Vladimir Putin following the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited Armenian media reports, Pashinyan disclosed the upcoming visit during a meeting with voters. "The Russian President called me on June 1 to congratulate me on my birthday. It is clear that, in addition to the congratulations, we also had a business conversation. We agreed that after the elections, I will go to Russia again to meet with Putin and we will resolve all current issues," Pashinyan stated.

The Armenian Prime Minister emphasized that he does not intend to engage in disputes with Russia but will maintain a firm stance on Armenia's national interests. "We will not act against Russia's interests, but we will not act against our own interests either," he noted. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7. Such high-level diplomatic visits are significant as they often influence the geopolitical dynamics in the South Caucasus, particularly regarding the post-conflict normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which remains a focal point for regional stability.
