ABŞ və İran arasında yeni mərhələ: 60 günlük kritik proses başladı

A memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran marks a new chapter in relations between the two nations. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, the technical details and diplomatic calendar for the process are currently being finalized.

The White House has announced that preparations for technical negotiations with Iran are underway. However, US Vice President JD Vance's scheduled visit to Switzerland has been temporarily postponed due to logistical reasons. Official sources emphasize that the American delegation is prepared to depart at the earliest opportunity and that significant efforts are being made to initiate talks as soon as possible.

Regarding the economic aspects of the agreement, reports from Washington suggest that Iran may be granted significant economic opportunities in the initial phase. Notably, the US Department of the Treasury is expected to implement sanctions relief concerning Iranian crude oil exports and maritime banking to stimulate the global economy. International experts and think tanks view this move not merely as a diplomatic success, but as a historic transformation in the region, facilitated by intermediaries including Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

The inclusion of a ceasefire regarding conflicts in Lebanon within the agreement has elicited mixed reactions from Israel. US Vice President Vance has taken a firm stance against Israeli cabinet members who have criticized the Iran policy of US President Donald Trump's administration:

"If I were in the Israeli cabinet, I would not attack my only ally in the world," Vance stated, noting that a significant portion of the weapons protecting Israel is funded by American taxpayers. He also characterized civilian casualties resulting from Israeli strikes as "unacceptable."

A 60-day period has commenced with the transition to the second phase of negotiations, during which the parties are expected to reach an agreement on technical details. It is reported that the Trump administration intends to prevent any Israeli obstruction of the peace process. The upcoming meetings in Switzerland are expected to play a decisive role in the geopolitical landscape of the region.

This diplomatic development follows a long history of strained relations between Washington and Tehran, characterized by decades of sanctions and limited direct communication. The current initiative represents a significant shift in US foreign policy under the administration of US President Donald Trump, aiming to stabilize regional dynamics through direct engagement.
