In her message, Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized the significance of this ancient holiday in preserving the national and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, noting that Novruz brings a spirit of renewal and unity to the country.
Novruz, which marks the arrival of spring and the vernal equinox, is one of the most cherished and ancient holidays in Azerbaijan. It symbolizes the awakening of nature and the triumph of life. In 2009, Novruz was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, reflecting its global cultural importance. In Azerbaijan, the holiday is celebrated with various traditional ceremonies, including the lighting of bonfires and the preparation of national sweets, symbolizing the rich heritage of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
