Maka Bochorishvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament, has characterized the recent discussions between Azerbaijan and Armenia as highly productive. According to reports from the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Georgian media, Bochorishvili emphasized the importance of these diplomatic efforts during a recent press briefing.
Bochorishvili noted that the dialogue between the two nations is a critical step toward fostering regional stability. She highlighted that the international community is closely monitoring these developments, as the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan is essential for long-term peace and economic integration in the South Caucasus.
The official also addressed the broader context of regional cooperation, specifically referencing the recent 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia held in Istanbul. "This was an excellent opportunity to assess the status of our trilateral cooperation. We discussed both successfully implemented projects and future initiatives that will help further strengthen the role of our states in ensuring regional connectivity," she stated.
Bochorishvili further underscored the strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia, noting the high-level exchanges between the two nations. She pointed to the recent visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia and the visit of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Baku as evidence of the deepening strategic partnership, which includes significant infrastructure developments such as the restoration of railway connections.
