Küveyt tankeri Dubayda söndürüldü: 24 nəfər xilas oldu

Emergency services in Dubai have successfully extinguished a fire on board the Kuwaiti-owned oil tanker "Al-Salmi" following an attack by an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Dubai Media Office confirmed via its official social media channels that civil defense and rescue teams managed to contain the blaze. The press service noted that "relevant teams continue to assess the situation and take necessary measures" to ensure the vessel's stability and environmental safety.

According to official reports, no injuries were sustained during the incident. All 24 crew members were safely evacuated or accounted for following the strike. Earlier, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that the tanker was targeted by an Iranian drone while positioned near the Dubai port, resulting in structural damage to the hull and a subsequent fire on deck. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) also confirmed that an unidentified projectile struck the vessel approximately 31 nautical miles northwest of Dubai.

This incident occurs amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing concerns regarding the security of maritime trade routes in the Persian Gulf. The Gulf remains one of the world's most critical corridors for global energy supplies, and such attacks frequently prompt increased naval patrols and international calls for the protection of commercial shipping. Authorities in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait are expected to conduct a joint investigation into the technical damage and the specific nature of the projectile used in the assault.
