Azerbaijan has established itself as a vital platform for international dialogue and the discussion of pressing global issues. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, shared these remarks on his X social media account.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the presidential assistant shared a video from the Baku Olympic Stadium, the venue for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). "Against the backdrop of increasing global tensions and conflicts, Azerbaijan serves as an important platform for international dialogue and the discussion of current global issues. WUF13, which brings together participants from all over the world, has officially commenced its work," Hajiyev stated.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly expanded its diplomatic footprint by hosting high-level international summits, including the upcoming COP29 climate conference. The selection of Baku for such prestigious events reflects the international community's recognition of Azerbaijan's stability, strategic location, and commitment to multilateralism. The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, aiming to address the challenges of rapid urban growth and its impact on communities and economies worldwide.
