İlham Əliyev: 2028-ci ildə "Şahdəniz"in yeni mərhələsi üzrə hasilatın başlanmasını gözləyirik

President Ilham Aliyev has announced that the start of production for the new phase of the Shah Deniz field is expected in 2028.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during his speech at the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council. The head of state noted that all production profiles will allow for an additional 10-15 billion cubic meters of gas at maximum production levels.

"As I mentioned earlier, this requires new markets, the expansion of the existing pipeline system, and, of course, additional measures must be taken toward the diversification of our gas distribution network," President Ilham Aliyev stated.

The Shah Deniz field, located in the Caspian Sea, is one of the world's largest natural gas-condensate fields and serves as the primary source for the Southern Gas Corridor. This massive infrastructure project aims to enhance Europe's energy security by diversifying routes and sources of supply. Azerbaijan has consistently increased its gas exports to European markets following the completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), reinforcing its role as a reliable strategic energy partner for the region.
