China's Shenzhen EngineAI Robotics has announced the creation of the world's first martial arts league specifically designed for humanoid robots.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the championship has been officially named the "Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend" (URKL).

The company is offering its proprietary T800 model as the universal competition platform for the league. While the base robot modification is prohibited to ensure a level playing field, participants from around the world are encouraged to develop their own protective gear, implement algorithmic innovations, and utilize engineering optimization to gain a competitive edge. Following registration and a preliminary selection phase, the main URKL tournament will feature 16 teams divided into four groups. Matches will consist of three five-minute rounds, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.

The champion of the league will be awarded a 10-kilogram solid gold belt valued at 10 million yuan (approximately $1.44 million).

The primary objective of the tournament is to advance the core capabilities of humanoid robotics, including motion control, balancing algorithms, and real-time decision-making functions. The EngineAI T800 robot, which serves as the standard for the competition, was introduced to the public in December 2025 with a starting price of 180,000 yuan ($26,000). The machine stands 1.73 meters tall and weighs 75 kilograms.

This initiative reflects the rapid acceleration of the robotics industry in East Asia, where humanoid technology is increasingly being integrated into both industrial and entertainment sectors. By fostering a competitive environment, developers aim to stress-test hardware and software under high-intensity conditions, ultimately driving innovation that can be applied to search-and-rescue, domestic assistance, and advanced manufacturing in Azerbaijan and globally.
