Representatives of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, have submitted an official appeal to the Central Election Commission (CEC), demanding that the results of the recent parliamentary elections be declared invalid.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the bloc's representatives arrived at the commission's headquarters to formally lodge their protest against the electoral outcome.

Aram Vardevanyan, a prominent member of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, stated that the appeal is based not only on specific irregularities recorded on election day but also on broader grievances regarding the overall conduct of the electoral process. According to Vardevanyan, numerous violations were observed throughout the campaign period and during the voting process itself.

Vardevanyan further noted that, based on assessments by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), these elections were characterized as more problematic than the parliamentary elections held in 2021. The opposition bloc is demanding a comprehensive re-evaluation of the results and their subsequent annulment.

The OSCE/ODIHR has historically played a significant role in monitoring elections across the South Caucasus region, providing independent assessments of democratic standards. Challenges to election results by opposition parties are a recurring feature in the political landscape of the region, often highlighting deep-seated disagreements over administrative transparency and the integrity of the voting process.
