Pakistan and Iran foreign ministers discuss regional issues

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have held a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs released information regarding the call on the X social media platform. According to the statement, the two top diplomats exchanged views on pressing issues on the regional and international agenda.

During the conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani side for its consistent support. Specifically, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for voting against a resolution concerning Iran at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The Iranian minister conveyed his deep appreciation to the Prime Minister, the government, and the people of Pakistan for their demonstrated solidarity and support.

Diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Tehran have historically focused on security cooperation and economic ties. As neighboring nations, both countries play a significant role in maintaining regional stability in South Asia and the Middle East. Such high-level dialogues are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the partnership between the two Islamic republics and coordinate positions within international organizations.
