France is set to triple the volume of its humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, increasing the total delivery to 60 tons.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.
According to the minister, the decision reflects a significant escalation in support. "We have decided to triple the amount of aid arriving this week. We plan to send 60 tons of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, including sanitary kits, hygiene products, mattresses, lamps, and a mobile medical unit," Barrot stated. He further emphasized France's long-standing commitment to providing substantial support to Lebanon during its current crisis.
This move comes as Lebanon faces an escalating humanitarian emergency characterized by severe shortages of medical supplies and basic necessities. France, maintaining deep historical and diplomatic ties with Lebanon, has frequently taken a lead role in mobilizing international support for the country. The provision of mobile medical units and hygiene kits is specifically aimed at addressing the immediate needs of displaced populations and supporting a healthcare system under immense pressure.
