Sabah FC is set to play its first match in the UEFA Champions League qualification stage today.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the team, led by head coach Valdas Dambrauskas, will face the Israeli representative Hapoel (Be'er Sheva) in an away game.
The match will take place at the Giulesti Stadium in Bucharest, Romania, and is scheduled to kick off at 23:00 Baku time. The encounter will be officiated by Italian FIFA referee Davide Massa.
It should be noted that the return leg between the two teams is scheduled for August 25 at 20:45 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku. The UEFA Champions League qualification rounds are critical for clubs aiming to secure a spot in the prestigious tournament's group stage, which serves as the pinnacle of European club football, offering significant financial rewards and international exposure for participating teams.
