The European Union has allocated a new military support package for Ukraine valued at €6.1 billion.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the funds are designated for the procurement of air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radar equipment.

This financing will be executed within the framework of the €90 billion "Ukraine Support Credit" facility earmarked for the 2026-2027 period. This new package serves as an addition to the previously approved €16 billion in defense supplies.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Europe's support for Ukraine remains steadfast, emphasizing that meeting the country's urgent defense requirements continues to be a top priority for the bloc.

The European Union has consistently provided significant financial and military assistance to Ukraine since the onset of the conflict in February 2022. These aid packages are designed not only to bolster immediate battlefield capabilities but also to support the long-term resilience of Ukraine's defense infrastructure against ongoing security challenges.
