A delegation led by Professor Talat Canbolat, Deputy Rector of the Turkish National Defense University, has visited the Separate Combined Arms Army in Nakhchivan as part of an official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Defense, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the delegation visited the headquarters of the Separate Combined Arms Army. During the visit, the guests were briefed on the history, development path, activities, and ongoing reforms of the army, as well as its future objectives. Discussions focused on the current state of cooperation in military education, future prospects, and other issues of mutual interest.
The delegation also toured the Training and Education Center, visiting various classrooms, the simulation center, and the simulator hall. At the Nakhchivan Military College and the Heydar Aliyev Military Lyceum, the Turkish representatives were informed about reforms in special-purpose educational institutions, the existing military education system, and directions for teaching and scientific activities. The visit included inspections of headquarters, educational buildings, dormitories, and other administrative facilities.
Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey has intensified significantly in recent years, particularly following the 2020 Garabagh War. The Shusha Declaration, signed in 2021, further solidified the strategic alliance, emphasizing joint efforts in defense and military education. The Separate Combined Arms Army, stationed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of Azerbaijan's exclave and frequently participates in joint tactical exercises with the Turkish Armed Forces to enhance interoperability.
As part of the cultural program, the delegation visited the Turkey-Azerbaijan Friendship Park and several historical and cultural monuments in the region.
