The Jordanian national football team has become the fourth squad to be eliminated from contention for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this outcome was confirmed following a 1-2 defeat against Algeria in the second round of Group J matches. The loss leaves the team, managed by head coach Jamal Sellami, without a path to the next stage of the tournament.
Previously, it was confirmed that the national teams of Turkey, Haiti, and Tunisia had also failed to secure a spot in the round of 16.
Despite the elimination, Jordan is scheduled to face Argentina in the third round of the group stage. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, a major global sporting event that brings together the world's top footballing nations, is set to conclude on July 19.
