Italian football club Fiorentina has made a definitive decision regarding the future of Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, despite earlier transfer rumors surrounding the 35-year-old goalkeeper, the club's management intends to retain the player.

Reports from renowned transfer insider Nicolo Schira indicate that both the Fiorentina management and the coaching staff view David de Gea as their primary goalkeeper for the upcoming season. This decision reflects the club's high regard for the experienced player's contributions to the team's performance.

David de Gea joined Fiorentina in 2024. During the previous season, the Spanish goalkeeper appeared in 46 matches across all competitions. In these appearances, he conceded 59 goals while successfully keeping a clean sheet in 13 matches. The current contract between the parties is set to run until the middle of 2028.
