Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received a delegation led by Kush Choksy, Senior Vice President of the US Chamber of Commerce, to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the visiting delegation included executives and representatives from 31 major American companies interested in the Azerbaijani market.
During the meeting, the parties held extensive discussions on steps taken toward establishing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the US. The current state of cooperation in energy, trade, transport, and logistics was thoroughly analyzed. Particular focus was placed on regional connectivity, including the TRIPP route, economic investments, and prospects for developing cooperation with the US private sector.
The bilateral contacts regarding the preparation of the Strategic Partnership Charter, following the Washington Peace Summit held on August 8 last year, were highly commended. It was emphasized that the upcoming signing of the Charter will provide additional impetus to the deepening of relations between the two nations. Furthermore, the meeting included an exchange of views on Azerbaijan's vital role in regional energy security and the significance of developing renewable energy resources.
Discussions also covered the diversification of trade routes along the Middle Corridor, the favorable business and investment climate in Azerbaijan, and opportunities for establishing new commercial ties. This engagement aligns with the broader foreign policy objectives of the administration under US President Donald Trump, which emphasizes strengthening economic partnerships and securing global energy supply chains.
The Middle Corridor, or the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, has become a focal point for international logistics, connecting China and the European Union through Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan serves as a critical hub in this network, leveraging its modern infrastructure in Baku and across the liberated territories to facilitate efficient East-West trade.
