Azerbaijan has commenced the transit of wheat shipments from Russia to Armenia through its national railway network, marking a significant development in regional logistics.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the initial supply consists of 14 wagons carrying a total of 977 tons of grain. The freight train is scheduled to depart from the Bilajari station of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, proceeding to the Boyuk Kasik station on the Georgian border. From there, the cargo will be transported through Georgia to its final destination in Armenia.

This transit operation underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a pivotal logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By utilizing its modern railway infrastructure, Azerbaijan continues to facilitate international trade corridors, enhancing the connectivity between regional markets and global supply chains. The move is seen as part of broader efforts to optimize transport routes and leverage the country's strategic geographical position at the crossroads of Eurasia.
