The National Hydrometeorology Service of Azerbaijan has issued a weather warning, forecasting a significant shift in meteorological conditions across the country. Starting from the daytime on June 20, rain is expected in mountainous and foothill regions, with precipitation spreading to other areas from June 21 through June 25.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the forecast indicates that rainfall will be intense in certain locations, accompanied by lightning and a high probability of hail. Authorities have warned that these weather patterns may lead to increased water levels in rivers, with a risk of short-term flooding and mudslides in some mountainous areas.

In connection with the windy and rainy weather conditions, air temperatures are expected to drop by 4-7 degrees Celsius on June 21 compared to previous days. The National Hydrometeorology Service regularly monitors such atmospheric changes to ensure public safety and provide timely alerts to the population and relevant emergency services.

Azerbaijan's diverse geography, ranging from the Caucasus Mountains to the Caspian Sea coastline, often results in localized weather phenomena. The country's meteorological services frequently issue such advisories during the summer months to mitigate risks associated with sudden climate shifts, particularly in agricultural and mountainous regions where flash flooding can pose hazards to infrastructure and local communities.
