Azerbaijan is set to implement a comprehensive digitalization strategy for its national education system.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this initiative was announced by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev during the inaugural meeting of the Digital Development Council.
Minister Amrullayev briefed First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva on the ongoing efforts and future strategic plans aimed at integrating digital technologies into the country's educational framework. The discussion highlighted the government's commitment to modernizing the learning environment to meet contemporary global standards.
The Minister addressed critical areas, including the provision of a unified internet network for educational institutions, the implementation of the "Digital School" project, the digitalization of data across all levels of education, and the transition to electronic educational documentation. He further noted that the next phase of this reform will focus on the full digitalization of the teaching process itself.
Amrullayev also highlighted the ongoing success of the "Digital Skills" and "STEAM Azerbaijan" projects, which are currently being implemented in schools to foster the development of digital literacy among students. He emphasized that cultivating human capital through these technological advancements remains one of the primary priorities for the Ministry of Science and Education. These initiatives are part of a broader national strategy in Azerbaijan to transition toward a knowledge-based economy by equipping the younger generation with essential 21st-century skills.
