Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyid Abbas Araghchi, have held a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and regional security dynamics.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the ministers exchanged views on the current state of Azerbaijan-Iran relations, the regional situation, and the progress of ongoing negotiation processes. During the call, the parties also explored the prospects for diplomatic and political solutions to the situation surrounding Iran. Minister Araghchi provided detailed information regarding the negotiation process, while Jeyhun Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan's support for efforts directed toward resolving conflicts through peaceful means and diplomatic dialogue.
The diplomatic engagement between Baku and Tehran comes at a time of increased focus on regional connectivity and stability in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan has consistently maintained its position on the importance of respecting territorial integrity and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation among neighboring states. This latest contact underscores the commitment of both nations to maintaining open channels of communication to address shared interests and regional challenges, including the development of international transport corridors and energy security.
The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest during the conversation.
