Anaclaudia Rossbach, the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), has expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for hosting the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and providing a premier platform to discuss sustainable urban development.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Rossbach made these remarks during a press conference marking the official opening of the forum in Baku. "Today's challenges require us to act faster, more coordinated, and more inclusive. We have gathered at WUF13 hosted by the Azerbaijani government in Baku. We are in a period where the world is changing, crises are occurring, but also great opportunities are arising," she stated, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing urban crises.

The World Urban Forum is the leading global conference on sustainable urbanization, established by the United Nations to examine the rapid impact of urbanization on communities, economies, and climate change. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a central hub for international diplomacy and sustainable development initiatives. This event follows the country's successful hosting of major global summits, reflecting its commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and its own national priorities for ecological urban transformation in the post-conflict recovery phase.
