Iran does not consider the United States' potential withdrawal from regional conflicts as a dignified exit.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Abolfazl Shekarchi, the spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, made these remarks in a statement to the ISNA news agency.
According to the report, Shekarchi stated: “The Americans now want to exit the war in a dignified manner, but we will not leave them alone until we have taken revenge for everything they have done. Every time US President Donald Trump makes a statement, he demonstrates more clearly to the world how much he has been humiliated.”
The spokesperson further emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed to the United States and Israel for an extended period. “The Strait of Hormuz will be closed to the Americans and the Zionists,” Shekarchi added, signaling a continued hardline stance regarding the strategic maritime corridor.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical oil transit chokepoints, linking Middle East crude producers to key markets across the globe. Tensions in the region have frequently led to threats regarding the closure of the waterway, which handles approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption. This latest rhetoric comes amid a period of heightened geopolitical friction involving Tehran, Washington, and Tel Aviv over regional security and maritime navigation rights.
