The first batch of Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 tanks scheduled for 2026 has arrived in Poland from the United States.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that 29 tanks have been delivered to the country as part of a broader defense modernization initiative.

The final stage of development and integration will take place at the WZMOT weapons plant in Poznan, after which the vehicles will be officially handed over to the Polish Army. The Polish military already operates 116 Abrams tanks of previous modifications. According to official plans, a total of 250 Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 tanks are expected to be supplied to Poland to enhance its land force capabilities.

The Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 is recognized for its advanced composite armor, improved fire control systems, and the ability to fire high-explosive fragmentation shells, among other technological upgrades. This delivery comes at a time of increased defense cooperation between Warsaw and Washington. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, the United States has consistently emphasized the importance of strengthening the defense infrastructure of NATO allies in Eastern Europe through the provision of cutting-edge military hardware and strategic support.
