US President Donald Trump has arrived in Ankara for a high-level diplomatic visit. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the aircraft carrying the US leader landed at the Ankara airport, where he was welcomed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with an official ceremony.

During the ceremony, President Trump greeted the honor guard in Turkish with the phrase “Merhaba asker” (Hello soldier), a gesture that drew significant attention. Following the arrival formalities, both leaders proceeded to the Hall of Honor for a commemorative photograph.

Invited by President Erdogan, President Trump is scheduled to hold a series of critical meetings over the next two days. The agenda is expected to prioritize the US-Turkey strategic partnership, cooperation in the defense sector, and the expansion of trade and investment ties. The leaders are also set to exchange views on pressing global and regional developments, exploring further avenues to strengthen bilateral relations.

On the second day of his visit, President Trump will participate in the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government. Following the official welcome ceremony and the traditional “family photo,” the US President will join the NATO Leaders' Working Session. Later in the day, President Trump is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

The visit will conclude with a press conference in Ankara, where President Trump is expected to brief the media on the outcomes of his discussions and the results of the NATO Summit before departing for Washington.

This visit underscores the enduring importance of the US-Turkey relationship, particularly within the framework of NATO, where both nations play pivotal roles in maintaining regional stability and security.
