Albaniyada keçirilməsi planlaşdırılan NATO sammiti təxirə salına bilər

Uncertainty surrounds the NATO summit originally scheduled to take place in Albania in 2027. According to reports by Bloomberg, the alliance is currently evaluating options to either reschedule or potentially cancel the event entirely.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that several factors may influence this decision. Analysts point to Albania's defense spending levels, which remain lower compared to some other NATO member states, as a primary concern. Furthermore, reports suggest that US President Donald Trump has expressed reservations regarding the coordination and logistical complexities associated with large-scale NATO summits.

Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, a high-ranking NATO military official, stated that while the plan to host the summit in Albania remains on the table, discussions regarding the specific timing—whether it will proceed in 2027 or be pushed to a later date—are ongoing.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), established in 1949, serves as the primary intergovernmental military alliance for its member states. Summits are critical high-level meetings where heads of state and government convene to set strategic directions for the alliance. The potential shift in the 2027 summit schedule reflects the ongoing internal debates within the alliance regarding defense commitments and the evolving geopolitical priorities of its key members, including the United States under the administration of US President Donald Trump.
