Azerbaijan is bracing for a significant rise in temperatures, with forecasts indicating that the mercury could reach 37°C tomorrow.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather advisory regarding the upcoming heatwave.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be variably cloudy and mostly rainless, though brief, light showers are possible in some suburban areas during the morning. A moderate north-westerly wind will occasionally strengthen in parts of the peninsula during the day. Temperatures are forecast to range between 20-23°C at night and 27-30°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 758 mm Hg, with relative humidity levels fluctuating between 60-80%.
Across other regions of Azerbaijan, the forecast predicts intermittent rain in some areas, with potential for intense downpours, lightning, and hail. Precipitation is expected to be more pronounced in northern and western districts. Fog is anticipated in some mountainous areas during the night and morning hours. Daytime temperatures in these regions are expected to reach 32-37°C, while mountainous areas will see cooler conditions, ranging from 18-23°C, and up to 29°C in some locations.
The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these climatic shifts, which are common during the summer season in Azerbaijan. Such temperature spikes are typical for the region's continental climate, prompting authorities to advise citizens to take necessary precautions against heat-related health risks during peak daylight hours.
