WUF13-də rəqəmsal texnologiyaların mənzil sektoruna təsiri

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) has hosted extensive discussions on the development of a sustainable and environmentally responsible housing sector, highlighting the critical role of digital technologies in modern urban planning.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Leyla Quici, Head of Advocacy for Climate Technologies and Digital Utilities at GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association), addressed the closing session of the assemblies held within the framework of WUF13. She noted that the inclusion of digital technology discussions across all forum panels is a promising development, as these tools can be utilized in every stage from construction material production to energy, water, and waste management.

“Digitalization is already here,” Quici emphasized during her speech. She pointed out that the primary challenge is not the lack of a business model, but rather its evaluation within incorrect budgetary frameworks. The importance of public-private partnerships was also underscored, with Quici stating that the private sector should be viewed as a key driving force in implementing affordable housing policies and should be integrated into decision-making processes at an early stage.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001 and managed by UN-Habitat, is the world's premier conference on urban issues. The forum examines the rapid pace of urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, and climate change. By bringing together government officials, private sector leaders, and urban planners, WUF13 aims to advance the New Urban Agenda and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering inclusive and resilient cities in Azerbaijan and across the globe.
